Antibacterial Activity of Bismuth Oxide Nanoparticles Compared to Amikacin against Acinetobacter baumannii and Staphylococcus aureus

In this work, bismuth oxide nanoparticles (Bi2O3 NP) were prepared by laser ablation of a solid target in distilled water. The optical and structural properties Bi2O3 NPs studied using UV–VIS spectroscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), transmission electron microscope (TEM), scanning microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR). results showed that the average particle size is less than 20 nm. antibacterial activity was determined compared with amikacin against Acinetobacter baumannii Staphylococcus aureus. higher amikacin. Furthermore, S. aureus bacteria baumannii; result confirmed studying effect bacterial biofilm formation eyes contact lenses atomic force (AFM) technique. Taken together, could be used as preservative for eye drops to prevent microbial biofilms lenses.
